Google’s Circle To Search Can Now Translate On-Screen Text With Just A Tap

Recently, Google launched the Circle To Search (guide) feature for its Pixel 6 series (and the Pixel 7a). Further, the Alphabet-owned company also announced its plans to release an instant translation feature for supported devices. Now, it is rolling out for some users, as spotted by a known journalist.

In-Line Translations With Circle to Search Are Rolling Out To Some Users

In a post on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter), journalist Mishaal Rahman reported on the new in-line translation support for the Google Circle to Search feature. In the short video shared by Rahman, we can see how a translate button appears on the bottom of the screen after activating the Circle to Search feature.

For now, the in-line text translation feature in Circle to Search is rolling out to a limited number of users. However, the feature should be available to more users over the next few days. The new feature instantly translates the text on the screen, saving time that might go into clicking a screenshot, then opening it with Google Lens, and hitting the translate button.

Circle to Search is rolling out in-line translation support!@Google announced last week that Circle to Search will add a new button that lets you instantly translate text onscreen, and this has now started to roll out to some users. How Does The New In-Line Translation Feature Work?

To use the new translation ability, users should first invoke the Circle to Search feature by long-pressing on the home button or the navigation bar. Once the blue-colored animation appears on the screen, wait for the translate button to appear toward the right of the search bar. Once users hit this button, the text on the screen instantly translates to their phone’s default language. Users can also change the language in which they want the text to be translated.

Google’s Circle To Search Translation Availability

The feature will be available on the devices that support Circle to Search. These include the latest Galaxy S24 series and its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 series. Regarding foldables, the in-line translation feature should be available to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Z Flip 5. Last but not least, Google should also roll out the feature to support Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6, and later variants, including the company’s first foldable device, the Pixel Fold.
