WhatsApp rolls out new navigation bar for Android devices

WhatsApp is currently sitting on top of 3 billion users and counting. To improve its users’ experience, WhatsApp rolls out updates from time to time. The latest to hit the market is the navigation bar. Although it isn’t any revolutionary change in any way, it does ease users’ experience.

WhatsApp recently confirmed rolling out the feature teasing the new navigation bar that is now at the bottom of the screen instead of the top.

Remember the age-old navigation bar that said Chats, Status, Calls on the top, it’s no longer there. Instead, the latest update pulls the navigation bar to the bottom. It is now significant and comfy to use making it convenient to use. The large-sized navbar and the buttons make it easier for users to toggle between tabs.

The new navbar does look eye-popping with four options – Chats, Updates, Communities, and Calls, clearly laid out. The navbar is rolling out across Android that should put the UI in-line with its iOS clients. It should arrive on your device soon (if not already). Beta testers suggest WhatsApp is adhering to Google’s Material Design guidelines.

Another incoming feature ‘Suggested Contacts’ is likely to appear under the ‘Chats’ tab as a part of WhatsApp Beta for Android v2.24.7.23.
