Rockstar Games To Resume WFO From This April To Streamline Developments Ahead Of GTA VI Launch

Rockstar Games is resuming work-from-office as GTA VI has entered the final stages of development. Over the past few months, we’ve come across several rumors and leaks about the game. In December 2023, we saw its official trailer, which revealed the main protagonist, Lucia. Most recently, a Reddit user unveiled details about the new features in GTA VI, including a three vs three basketball minigame. All these developments and the announced 2025 release date indicate that the game should enter its final development stages right now.

Rockstar Games’s Employees To Return To Office Five Days A Week

According to a new Bloomberg report, Rockstar Games requires employees to return to the office five days a week. The new working regime comes into effect from April 2024. In an email to the staff, Rockstar’s head of publishing, Jenn Kolbe, writes that the decision looks after productivity and security concerns around the multi-billion dollar video game. In the past, Rockstar Games has gone through several leaks, including the official trailer uploaded a day before the official date.

GTA VI To Come Out In 2025

In the email, Kolbe writes that “making these changes now puts us in the best position to deliver the next Grand Theft Auto at the level of quality and polish we know it requires, along with a publishing roadmap that matches the scale and ambition of the game.” Clearly, Rockstar Games wants to be at its best before the most-awaited video game of the year comes out. For those catching up, GTA VI should come out in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version isn’t announced yet.

In a related development, the company’s latest earnings expectations suggest a delay in the scheduled launch of GTA VI. The company’s latest revenue projection for next year suggests it will earn slightly over $7 billion, which should have been higher considering the game’s arrival. Nonetheless, Rockstar Games hasn’t announced anything about the delay yet. Read more about the new GTA VI features, including the two-weapons wielding system, here.
