Mercedes-Benz Introduces 2024 EQS with Significant Improvements: Stylish Updates and Increased Range



Mercedes-Benz has unveiled an exciting update for its EQS lineup, the luxury car brand has introduced a facelift for the 2024 model year. The latest iteration arrives with a revamped styling cues and promises an extended range, addressing key concerns for electric vehicle enthusiasts. Notably, the EQS facelift also promises enhanced rear seat comfort, signaling a comprehensive refinement of this luxury electric sedan.

Mercedes-Benz EQS 2024 Design

In the latest revamp of the EQS lineup, Mercedes-Benz has decided to stay true to its sleek design while adding some eye-catching touches. Picture this: the grille now sports shiny chrome elements, giving it a classy look similar to the S-Class. And to top it off, they’ve brought back the iconic ‘star’ hood ornament, bringing a touch of timeless elegance that’s synonymous with Mercedes-Benz’s top-tier models. It’s all about blending modern style with classic flair in this revamped EQS.

When you opt for the Extended Rear Luxury Lounge Pack in the EQS, you’re in for a treat. Imagine kicking back with a specially designed slanted footrest in the rear, perfect for those moments when you just want to relax. And it’s not just about kicking back – the front passenger seat can be folded forward, while the rear backrest can be adjusted to your liking, giving you all the comfort you need on the road. Mercedes even added an extra 5mm of foam in the backrest for that extra cozy feel. Plus, with features like seat heating, neck and shoulder heating in the rear, and pneumatic adjustment of the seat depth, it’s like riding in luxury every time you step into the EQS.

The MBUX Hyperscreen now comes standard, elevating the driving experience. The company has also introduced some new features inclusing Dolby Atmos audio for streaming your favorite videos with the YouTube web app.

Battery and Range

Big news for EQS lovers the battery capacity has received a boost from 108.4kWh to 118kWh, resulting in an additional 82km of range. To put things in perspective, the India-spec pre-facelift EQS already boasts an impressive ARAI certified range of 857km. With this larger battery pack, we could be looking at breaking the 900km mark.

Launch Timeline and Expected Price

Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce the EQS facelift alongside nine other new cars and SUVs this year. With the current model starting At Rs 1.62 crore (ex-showroom, India), anticipation is high for the facelift, which is expected to come with a slight price increase. Despite this, the EQS remains poised to maintain its standing as a top contender in the luxury electric vehicle segment, competing against formidable rivals like the BMW i7 and Porsche Taycan.
