Over the years, we’ve seen how fast foldables have evolved from bulky to thin and light near regular smartphone form factors. Xiaomi’s next-generation foldable- the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is no exception. Xiaomi’s latest high-end foldable the Mix Fold 4 has officially launched in China. The Mix Fold 4 comes with an incredibly thin and lightweight form factor while offering a flagship quad camera setup, powerful chipsets, and larger batteries.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 has retained its design language with a slim cover and larger main display. Xiaomi has improved the overall ergonomics to make its latest foldable smartphone better than ever. With its thinner and lighter design, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 edges out its immediate rivals Honor Magic V3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. Weighing at just 226 grams, the Mix Fold 4 weighs as much as Honor’s latest Magic V3. In terms of dimensions, the foldable is just 4.59mm thin when unfolded, and 9.47mm in its folded state, making it the thinnest foldable smartphone available in the market.
Xiaomi incorporated a curved aluminum frame design in its latest foldable. The Mix Fold 4 boasts a 6.56-inch cover display and a 7.98-inch internal display. Both panels come with a FHD+ resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support. For the first time, Xiaomi also added an IPX8 water resistance rating, protecting it from normal water splashes.
Xiaomi is touting impressive durability with an upgraded T800H high-strength carbon fiber which is remarkably light while offering 300% improvement in impact resistance compared to the predecessor Mix Fold 3. The Mix Fold 4 comes with an upgraded hinge that can withstand 500,000 folds.
Under the hood, the foldable is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. It packs a massive 5,100mAh battery with 67W fast wired and 50W wireless charging support. The device uses Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box.
You get a quad rear camera setup in the Mix Fold 4, the highest on any foldable smartphone to date. The Mix Fold 4 has a Leica-tuned OIS-enabled 50MP main sensor paired with a 50MP 3.2x portrait sensor, a 12MP ultrawide shooter, and a 10MP periscope lens with 5X optical zoom. There is a 20MP under-display front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.
Alongside the Mix Fold 4, Xiaomi also launched its first-ever Xiaomi Mix Flip smartphone. Xiaomi’s first clamshell smartphone comes with an impressive set of features such as Qualcomm snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 4,780mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging, and dual 50MP main sensor + 50MP 2x telephoto powerful rear cameras.
The Mix Flip has a 4.01-inch cover display and a 6.86-inch LTPO main display. Both panels support 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 3000 nits of peak brightness. It packs up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Xiaomi Mix Flod 4 starts at CNY 8,999 ($1,237) for the 12/256GB model, while the high-end 16GB/1TB storage model retails at CNY 10,999 ($1,513). It comes in Black, White, and Blue color options.
Xiaomi Mix Flip pricing starts at CNY 5,999 ($825) for the base 12GB/256GB variant while the top tier 16GB/1TB variant retails at CNY 7,299 ($1,004). Xiaomi offers three beautiful color options for the Mix Flip – White, Purple, and Black. Xiaomi also launched the Mix Flip Nylon Fiber special edition.
The latest foldable is now up for pre-orders while the open sales will begin on 23rd July in China. As usual, there’s no confirmation on international availability from Xiaomi.
